North Highland Helps Devise Fundraising Strategies for Dress for Success Oregon

North Highland’s Portland office partnered with Dress for Success Oregon (DFSO) to help the nonprofit organization devise strategies to raise money and support to help women in the community.

DFSO is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a support network, professional attire and the development tools to help women achieve economic independence. The Oregon chapter has served more than 25,000 local women in its 18-year history. The organization hopes to raise $1 million in the next three years to ensure the security and future of the organization. This money will help the organization expand its space and improve its security and infrastructure support. Dress for Success Oregon also needed a refreshed strategy to engage new, current and past donors, as well as assistance differentiating itself amongst other organizations competing for the same donations.

The North Highland Portland team assisted DFSO in these areas by bringing together more than 35 thought leaders from the surrounding area. This group created an immersive learning and work experience to tackle Dress for Success Oregon’s donor opportunity by using the firm’s approach to Customer Experience design: Insights, Experience Design and Experience Enablement. Participants helped the organization better understand donors’ needs, motivations and drivers to be considered in its long-term donor strategy.

From this event, participants gained a better understanding of the many services DFSO provides. Dress for Success Oregon’s employees gleaned a clearer donor profile and innovative experience ideas designed around those donor values.

The Portland office will continue to work with Dress for Success Oregon to integrate the results from this session into its three-year roadmap.
