Gretel Salzmann leads Business Transformation at Regeneron, where she oversees the strategic planning, management, and implementation of transformative business initiatives to drive lasting change.
Gretel's career began at Merck & Co., Inc., where she spent 17 years in various drug development roles, including molecular biology, clinical science, clinical operations, and development program leadership. She then served as Vice President of Global Clinical Operations at Shionogi Inc. for three years, leading multiple teams responsible for managing Shionogi’s Global Clinical Trials.
In 2017, Gretel joined Regeneron as the Head of Clinical Operations Services, where she developed and enhanced multiple operational services such as training, process, documentation management, and study start-up. In 2022, she was tasked with establishing a Project Management Office for the Global Development organization.
To address the evolving needs of the organization, Gretel's focus recently shifted to developing and leading a Business Transformation team for Global Development. She now heads a team that includes Transformation Business Leadership, Project & Program Management, Strategic Facilitation, Change Management, Communications, Graphic Design, Meeting Management, and Knowledge Management.
Gretel is known for her compassionate and empathetic leadership, recognizing that people are a company's greatest asset. Her strategic agility and people-centric approach are key to driving her team’s efforts in delivering continuous transformation for Regeneron.
