FEMA Encourages Flood Insurance Purchase
In FEMA's latest campaign, they are educating communities on the importance of flood insurance in preparation for this hurricane season.
“Floods represent the number one natural hazard threat facing our nation, destroying lives and causing billions of dollars in damage last year alone,” said FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell.
Ahead of peak hurricane season, you may want to consider purchasing flood insurance. It could just be the difference between recovery and financial disaster in the face of a flooding crises.
FEMA Establishes Office of Emerging Threats
In June of 2023, FEMA announced the establishment of the Office of Emerging Threats (OET). The OET will allow FEMA to stay close to the Intelligence Community or other information sources as they monitor and address threats such as cyber-attacks, climate change, and new weapons of mass destruction.
