North Highland’s Doug Kraus, Sr. Director, AI & Data Architecture, and Josh Zhou, Sr. AI & Data Engineer, were featured on the Infrastructure Technology Podcast from Roads & Bridges where they discussed how AI-powered analytics, automation, and real-time monitoring are changing transportation and construction workflows.

The conversation highlighted how Public Sector organizations can use data and AI to move from reactive maintenance to earlier insight, stronger prioritization, and safer decisions.

The episode also spotlighted North Highland’s partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, including how AI-driven analytics can support prioritizing bridge maintenance, assessing roadway conditions sooner, and guiding long-term infrastructure planning with clearer visibility into risk and need.

“Better decisions start with faster access to trusted information,” said Kraus. “AI becomes valuable when the data and the way teams work make it usable day to day.”

Zhou shared how real-time data and predictive analytics can help teams spot concerns before they escalate, from surface issues to emerging safety hotspots.

“When you can bring the right data together and monitor conditions in near real time, you give operators a chance to act earlier and with more confidence,” Zhou shared.
