NH360 Portfolio Insights v6.17

We’re pleased to announce the availability of NH360 Portfolio Insights v6.17 – Product Update 17 (PU17). Product Updates include all previously released public updates and private hotfixes. We strongly recommend that any patch and release is validated in a non-production environment first before being applied to production environments.

Here is a list of changes that will be introduced with this update:

New Feature: Enhanced display options for time-phased values

This feature introduces expanded options for controlling the default year(s) displayed in time-phased financial and resource grids. By offering more control over year displays, organizations can focus on the most relevant time periods for their planning needs, enhancing overall efficiency and user experience.

• The Display All Years checkbox in stage settings has been replaced with a new Default Display Year drop-down, offering options for All Years, First Year, Current Year, and Current and Future Years. This allows for more precise control over the initial view of time-phased values.
• The Scroll to Year ribbon drop-down now includes new options for Current and Current and Future Years, enhancing navigation within the grids. These options are contextually displayed based on the intersection of the current financial timeline with the current year.
• For financial grids, the current year is determined by the Current Year global options, while for resource grids, the current year is based on the current calendar year.

 

Improvements

Strategy

• Introduced a new Forecast Variance column in the Metrics view and Strategic Objective Progress View dialog that clearly displays the difference between Target and Forecast metric values, enhancing variance analysis capabilities.
• Enhanced clarity by renaming the Gap column to Actual Variance in both the Metrics view and Strategic Objective Progress View dialog, better reflecting its purpose.
• Resolved column width persistence issue in Metrics web part, preserving user-defined layouts.

Roadmaps

• Resolved a localization issue that caused incorrect date formatting in the Relationships web part date columns when using non-default regional settings.
• Resolved color inconsistency in roadmap groups, ensuring custom-defined colors are correctly applied.

Resources

• Removed Inactive resources and their values from the Resource Capacity and Resource Tracking dashboards.

Portfolio Plans

• Enhanced tooltip functionality to properly display complete field name options in the Roadmap Settings tab dropdown menus.
• Eliminated erroneous validation warnings that persisted in the Min. Value field even after valid values were entered.
• Optimization page toolbar now properly displays when resizing browser window to smaller dimensions.
• Fixed a data consistency issue where baseline scenarios were not available in the ScenarioEntityOptimizationProperies OData view following entity additions, deletions, and plan refreshes.

Financials

• Introduced ModifiedDate and ModifiedBy columns in the FinancialValues and DeletedFinancialValues OData views.
• Ensured consistent synchronization of financial sub-categories across all reporting views.
• Enhanced the FinancialValues OData view with EntityTypeGUID and EntityTypeName columns, providing entity type context for improved financial data analysis and integration scenarios.

Other

• Enhanced timestamp visibility by displaying both date and time components for Created Date and Modified Date entity fields in Portfolio Hub views and Entity Details web parts.
• Expanded multi-line text field capacity to 4,000 characters.
• Expanded the EntityFieldsValues OData view with EntityTypeGUID, EntityTypeName, WorkflowStageGUID, and WorkflowStageName columns, delivering metadata that streamlines reporting and cross-system data synchronization.
• Improved performance for large Portfolio Hub views containing multiple people picker fields as columns.
• Portfolio Hub views now properly display content after multiple consecutive updates and saves.
• Portfolio Hub views no longer retain outdated search criteria when view definitions are updated.
• Corrected text formatting behavior to prevent content loss when applying bullet formatting to selected text in multi-line fields.
• Implemented validation with clear error messaging for invalid selections in people picker entity fields.
• Forms now load properly for entities created via Data Exchange by automatically removing new line characters from entity names during import.
• Resolved issue with using Data Exchange to update values for the Owner entity field after it was migrated from Microsoft Project Online.
• Resolved issue that caused some queue jobs to timeout when creating large numbers of entity snapshots simultaneously.
• Resolved date formatting issue where date field values were not properly saved when using locales with day/month/year format.
• Resolved an issue where users were incorrectly redirected to the Settings page when closing an entity immediately following a lifecycle stage transition.
• Resolved Queue admin page Excel export issue.

Programmability

• Improved developer accessibility by embedding field UIDs within ms-Dropdown div elements for hierarchical option set fields.
• Introduced new Disabled property for option sets of all types that can be used to programmatically enable (False) or disable (True) available option set values.
• Improved data integrity with robust validation and clear error messaging when invalid values are programmatically saved to people picker entity fields.
• Rich-text fields now accept programmatic updates after being modified through the UI in the same session.
• Resolved an issue that prevented the ability to programmatically set intrinsic entity date fields to blank values.
