Updated May 25, 2026
The May 2026 update to NH360 Portfolio Insights 7 introduces custom log types, a refreshed Roadmaps experience, and the ability to manage entity permissions with user picker fields, along with various other improvements.
Let’s review each of these updates.
Custom log types
This release introduces custom log types, which allow organizations to track log entries tailored to their needs—such as assumptions, decisions, or lessons learned—in addition to the built-in risk registers and issue logs. Administrators configure custom log types and their fields in Settings, then enable them on entity forms alongside existing risk and issue tracking.
- Administrators define and manage custom log types from the new Logs and registers page in Settings, alongside the built-in risk registers and issue logs.
- Custom fields for each log type are configured via the Fields page in Settings, allowing each log type to capture type-specific information.
- Custom log views are added to Logs and registers entity forms, enabling users to add, edit, and track items for each custom log type on an entity.
- The former Risks and issues entity form type has been renamed to Logs and registers to reflect that risk registers, issue logs, and custom logs all can be added to the same form.
Refreshed Roadmaps experience
This update introduces a refreshed experience for Roadmaps, replacing the legacy Manage roadmaps dialog with a new, full-screen page for viewing and managing roadmaps. The experience for creating and editing roadmaps has been refreshed as well, as have the drawers and dialogs shown when viewing a roadmap.
- The new Roadmaps page provides a full-screen list of owned and shared roadmaps, with the ability to create, edit, and delete owned roadmaps.
- A new Copy button creates a copy of any owned or shared roadmap.
- Creating and editing roadmaps uses a new full-page experience with dedicated configuration tabs for the roadmap’s format, filters, milestones, and access.
- Drawers and dialogs shown when viewing a roadmap—including the entity details, milestone details, and legend—have been refreshed with an updated design.
Set entity permissions with user picker fields
User picker fields can be configured in Settings to automatically manage entity permissions for users named in the field. When this option is enabled, the specified permissions are applied to each named user on each entity where they appear and updated automatically as field values change. This means that the permissions a user has to an entity can be set according to their role relative to the entity without needing to configure custom entity permissions for each user.
- A new Manage entity permissions option is available when configuring a user picker field. It appears on the User picker field properties card when creating or editing a user picker field, below the Manage entity access option, and can only be enabled if Manage entity access is also enabled for the field.
- Permissions are applied automatically when a user is named in the field on an entity and updated whenever the field value changes.
- Permissions granted via user picker fields are merged with permissions inherited from other sources, including global permissions from security groups, permissions set on the entity type, and permissions granted via other user picker fields on the same entity.
Other improvements
This update includes various improvements and refinements that polish the product and improve the user experience.
- An all-new Enterprise financial types page in Settings provides a redesigned experience for configuring the properties and category structure of each enterprise financial type.
- Formula fields display updated values in real time, without requiring a save operation or page refresh.
- A single financial form view can include financial dimensions from multiple financial dimension families.
- Financial form views that include only tracking dimensions default to the tracking detail level.
- Custom navigation links can be configured to open in a new browser tab.
- Saving a view definition in Portfolios includes a new Reset tab that allows administrators to clear persisted user settings, such as column order, grouping, sorting, and custom filters, for all users of the view.
- Exporting to Excel from Portfolios includes only the entities visible at the time of export, reflecting any active search and column filters.
- Second-level group headers in Roadmaps use a lighter shade of the parent group’s color.
- Formula fields support string concatenation using the & operator, allowing text fields, other field values, and string literals to be combined into a text output.
- The Currency digits setting in Global options is applied to financial values in financial grids.
- The Milestones OData view includes a new StatusName column and custom date label columns reflecting the values configured in Global options.
As always, various other fixes have been applied to this release, improving the application's performance, security, and consistency.
