Updated August 11, 2025

The August 2025 update to NH360 Portfolio Insights 7 introduces two new capabilities: Risk registers and custom permissions. Additionally, we have included numerous refinements, performance improvements, and other fixes.

Let's explore these new features.

Risk registers

This update introduces the all-new Risks form type, which enables users to log and track risks at the initiative level. Users can view all risks recorded on an initiative and edit them in bulk within the grid view. Risks can be created, edited, and viewed within a dialog, giving users more room to view and edit descriptive text and allowing the grid view to be streamlined to the essentials. Summary charts break down the risk register by category, status, impact, and probability, giving users an overview of the entity's risk status at a glance. Users can customize their views by selecting and reordering fields and by grouping risks in the grid. With the all-new Filters menu, users can filter the list of risks by intrinsic attributes with unprecedented speed. For the first time, risks can be included in snapshots, capturing an evolving view of initiatives' risk profiles over time. Finally, new OData views for risks enable reporting on risk data across entities both in their current state and as reflected in snapshots over time.

Custom permissions

With this release, we are introducing the Entity Access dialog, enabling users to customize the access policy and permissions for individual initiatives. On the Access tab, users can view and edit direct access to an entity granted via security group membership, or they can assign access directly to individual users. Here, they also can see which users are granted access via fields. For example, an initiative's Owner can be granted access automatically, simply by being named on the initiative.

On the Permissions tab, users can configure which permissions are allowed or denied for the current entity. They also can see which permissions are inherited from the entity type, making it easier than ever to understand the permissions users have to an initiative and apply any changes that may be necessary.

Other improvements

This update includes various improvements and refinements that polish the product and improve the user experience.

  • Detailed permissions have been implemented across all form types, facilitating refined configuration and readying Portfolio Insights 7 for customer deployments with sensitive data. All permissions have been updated with new labels and descriptions to reflect how each permission is applied.
  • Entity forms that include a single view no longer display the view list, simplifying the user experience by eliminating clutter.
  • New icons have been added for entity forms and now default to the icons from their form types, eliminating a configuration step in the majority of cases and simplifying setup.
  • Tooltips displayed throughout the UI have been reduced and refined, enabling administrators to surface configurable descriptions only when necessary.

And, as always, various other fixes have been applied to this release, improving the application's performance, security, and consistency.
