Many years of successful project delivery has once again resulted in North Highland being named a finalist in the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards. In partnership with National Grid, the firm is a 2025 finalist in the “Change and Transformation in the Private Sector” category for its work in the Energy & Utilities industry.
“I’m proud of our continual progress in providing each and every client with impact that lasts long after the project work is complete,” said Tony Doocey, Senior Managing Director at North Highland and MCA Board Member. “Being named an MCA finalist further showcases our true partnership with clients, reminding us all that the key to sustainability is in bridging the gap between people and processes.”
National Grid partnered with North Highland to address the widening skills gap in modernizing infrastructure in the UK’s Energy & Utilities industry. The goal was to transform its data and AI capability through its Data Talent Program, aiming to elevate the data profession and build a future-ready workforce. Using a pragmatic test-and-learn strategy personalized for National Grid, the program built confidence in new tools and a skills-based approach to career development. Today, it continues to equip employees with crucial data and AI skills, driving value in the energy transition towards a decarbonized economy.
“North Highland has positioned National Grid to make more informed decisions, driving operational excellence and innovation,” said Andrew Burns, National Grid’s Global Head of Strategy and Innovation. “This partnership has not only improved our current performance but has also laid the groundwork for future advancements, ultimately benefiting the communities we serve.”
North Highland is a proud member of the MCA and continues to showcase its client work and achievements via these awards, further cementing the firm and its people as experts of their craft.
Winners will be announced during the awards dinner and ceremony on November 10, 2025. Visit the MCA's website for a full list of this year's finalists.
