Updated November 10, 2025
The November 2025 update to Portfolio Insights 7 introduces the capability to create related entities directly from Relationships forms, refreshes the root page for Settings, improves the layout of Fields forms, and adds new reports with overviews of Risks and Issues.
Let's explore these updates.
Create related entities from Relationships forms
This update introduces the capability to create related entities directly from Relationships forms. The toolbar of the Relationships form type now includes a "New" menu button, which opens a menu of entity types included on the form. Clicking on one of the available entity types opens the New Entity Wizard for that entity type. When the wizard is submitted, the new entity is created and automatically related to the original entity. This feature makes it easy to quickly create projects within programs or populate any other entity type with subordinate or related entities.
Along with this update, we arere-labeling the primary action button in the Relationships form type to "Add", which now also opens a menu of entity types. Clicking on an entity type in the "Add" menu opens the "Add relationship" dialog, filtering the available entities to those of the selected type.
New Settings root page
The new root page for Settings refreshes its look and feel while maintaining the same essential content and functionality. Navigation between Settings and the rest of the application is now much smoother and faster.
Improved layouts for Fields forms
Starting with this release, entity Fields forms are now laid out using a grid layout that aligns both rows and columns. This improves legibility of the forms and will keep form layouts consistent when we introduce field dependencies in an upcoming release. The grid layout also improves accessibility by changing to a row-first tab order, following the natural reading order of the form. Additionally, the layout of our Flag fields has been refined to show the field label alongside the checkbox for a more natural, legible, and accessible structure.
New Risks Overview and Issues Overview reports
The new Risk Overview and Issues Overview reports show risks and issues from across the portfolio.
In the Risk Overview report, users can filter the report with an interactive probability/impact matrix, allowing them to zero in on the items with the highest risk exposure. Users of the Issues Overview report can use a bar chart by priority to similar effect. Both reports include tabular views of all overdue, new, and closed risks or issues. The reports also include a view of upcoming risks or issues across a configurable time horizon, as well as line charts that reveal the portfolio's risk exposure and active issues on a monthly basis, to help organizations plan ahead. Summary metrics, such as the average time to close, provide organizations with the data they need to identify new risks and issues and resolve them in a timely fashion.
